For The Guys

20 June 2021

Hello friends! Here is my card for the class I just finished called "For The Guys" which is the 5th class in the Altenew  AECP Level 1 certification that I have been working on for the past several months. Stamp sets used were Trigonometry and Retro Plantines.

It's always hard for me and everyone else I think to create a masculine card. Most of the sets I own have floral images which is a bit too feminine to call it masculine. The Trigonometry stamp set by Altenew is perfect for a more manly type of card. I use this set quite often to make birthday cards for men. I did add a few leafy branches as a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Easy Ink Blending

19 June 2021

Hello and welcome! The card I am sharing today is for the Altenew Easy Ink Blending Techniques class that is part of the Altenew Education Certification Program (AECP) for Level 1. The techniques shown in this class are some of the easiest ways to add color to your projects. Amy Lee taught the class and showed a variety of ways to create a beautiful background from simple ink blending to ink blending/emboss resist to Faux water coloring. In the past 12 years I have used all of the techniques that Amy demonstrated so there wasn't anything new that she showed that I haven't already done. It was pretty much a refresher course for me but it was still a good class.

The stamp sets used to create my card were Peaceful Serenity and Soar.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simple Boutique Cards

28 March 2021

Hello all and welcome! I created this quick and easy card featuring a free mini stamp set I received from Altenew. This card is my submission to the Simple Boutique Cards class that is part of my Level 1 of the Altenew Education Certification Program (AECP). I really did not learn anything new in this class. It was all just basic info on how to create a CAS card. CAS is my go to style when creating, although I like to go outside the box and dabble in other styles and techniques.

Here is a close-up view of my project. This card literally took me less than 10 minutes to create. For the background I used the Altenew Feathery stencil. I added jewels to the middle of the flowers to finish off my card.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day!

AECP All About Layering 2

17 January 2021

Hello and welcome! My AECP journey continues after a long seven week break for the holidays. This post is my submission for the All About Layering 2 class which wasn't too much different from the All About Layering 1 class but just a tad bit more advanced.

For my card today I chose the Angelique Motifs stamp set and created a clean and simple card design with lots of white space. I bought this set a while back when it first was released and have never opened it.  I used the following Altenew inks: Citrus burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, Mountain Mist, Volcano lake and Lagoon. I stamped a sentiment from the set. I added black splatters for interest.

  • I think the most important thing I have learned is to take my time to line up my layers. So many times I think that I have done it right the first time only to find out that I was too quick to judge and I end up throwing my work away and starting all over. There have been a few times that I am frustrated enough to just walk away and come back later to finish project.

There were many layering stamps to this floral image and I am quite pleased on how it turned out. Maybe not perfect but close enough.

Thanks for stopping by!
