Hello friends and welcome to Day 2 as we continue to bring you more inspiration and another chance to win a $50 GC to Gina K. Design. Just make sure you comment on all the blogs along the way to be entered. Winners from all three days will be randomly chosen and posted in the Gina K. blog several days after the hop. Good luck!
Today we are showcasing three more new sets so lets get to it! First up is Beth Silaika's new set called Welcome Home which has coordinating dies that may be purchased separately.
I paired both of my cards with the Perfect Pallet stamp set. I first stamped the birdhouse images with Black Onyx GKD ink, then I colored them with Copic Markers and lastly I masked the roofs with washi tape and stamped a wood pallet image from Perfect Pallets.
Next up we have Love Conquers, a scripty sentiment stamp set illustrated by Emily Loggans.
Quick and simple card using Black Onyx, Passionate Pink and Velvet Red GKD inks.
The last set today is by Arjita Singh, the newest illustrated at Gina K. Designs. Delightful Blooms is her first set and its a beauty! (This set is temporarily out of stock. Add it to your wish list to be notified when it will be available)
For this card I masked a rectangular area and ink blended the following GKD inks: Wild Dandelion, Tangerine Twist and Passionate Pink. I stamped one of the large images directly onto my panel with Black Onyx GKD ink. I heat embossed a sentiment and adhered it to the card front.
For my last card I used the Water Droplets Art Stencil and again did some ink blending with the following GKD inks: Wild Dandelion, Tangerine Twist and Passionate Pink. I use this color combo quite often! I stamped the second large floral image directly onto the stenciled area leaving part of the image with no color.
These products are now available at:
That concludes Day 2. Join us tomorrow as we showcase the new August Card Kit Peace, Love and Sushi.
Ok, stop, stop, you are killing me with today's cards! I just love how differently you are showcasing these sets, so beautiful! First the red breast on the bird and then boards on the house and then that fabulous blending and spotlighting and stenciling! I die! Great job, Rema

ReplyDeleteI adore your cards using the Bird houses Rema! They are the best. I also like the CAS style of the card using Emily's super Love Conquers hand lettered stamp set. I appreciate an "easier" approach to using the Delightful Blooms set as the thought of having to colour a detailed image like that is daunting to me.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards!!! Wow!!! They are all so beautiful and I would love to learn how to color them as wonderfully as you did!!! TFS
ReplyDeleteRema, holy smokes, are you talented, woman! I liked very much both of the designs for which you used Emily's sentiments. The soft pink diamond shape in the middle of the card created a simple yet elegant backdrop for the large sentiment - beautiful! I also thought your birdhouse cards were excellent. I like the 'welcome autumn' one slightly better... the tiny bit of blending brush work on the bird is genius-- blue on top and slightly ruddy beneath. Sigh... so good! Love the colored leaves on that tree, too. Finally, the way you worked with Arjita's stamp. Hoo-wee! Where do I start? First, I LOVED the masking off in a rectangle shape. I would never, ever have thought of that but it's a stunner! The counterpoint of the b/w background with the vibrant color of the inner rectangle. Sheesh! How did you come up w/ that? And then, just when I was thinking: well, that was an exceptional batch of images, I spied the last one. MY GOODNESS!! Using the Water Droplets stencil was a great choice. When I first saw this, it reminded me of a 60s design... like a poster for Laugh-In or something. I also momentarily thought I was seeing things, that the stamp used was Grow Positive Thoughts (yesterday)... but it wasn't. Your layout made me think of how the top was alive and growing while the bottom was mostly b/w. You really took Arjita's design in a different direction. Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable ride through your mini-album!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards here, lots of different layouts to think about for a different twist. Great sets of stamps and inspirations. Thanks for sharing. More hopping happiness.
